7 MORNING HABITS OF A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR

As a successful entrepreneur, you have to be in charge of not only your business but also your well-being. You have to have the right mindset, the right work-life balance, and you have to have the energy in order to obtain your goals and dreams.

So how do you set yourself up for that success? It all starts in the morning before you do anything work or household related. You have to take care of you!

If you have the right foundation established the house you build upon it will be strong and stable and will be able to withstand any storm. What do I mean by that? If you start your day right with successful morning habits, everything else will fall into place and you won’t crumble under the stresses and obstacles that fall onto your path.

You have to have your mind and body in the right state of mind before you start anything else.

Doing so will help you conquer your days.

1. Start Early

Starting your day earlier than everyone else can allow you to focus on you! As a mom, I have to get my son ready for school as well as myself ready for work. But waking up earlier than he does allows me time to focus on me and allows me to prepare my mind for the day. Many successful entrepreneurs wake up as early as 3 AM in the morning to start their morning routine. That may be a little bit of an extreme but you can incorporate waking up early, perhaps not that early, into your day so that you can start it off right. A great book that I've read called the Miracle Morning is a good book of reference for creating a morning routine.

2. Workout

I am sure that you have read so many books and articles that states how exercising is beneficial for not only your body but also your mind. It improves your mood, improves your focus, and gets the blood flowing. Working out regularly it's just an overall benefit for you and will help you on your journey to success.

Not only does it improve your mood, it also increases your energy levels and improves your memory and thinking abilities. If you are a person that goes to anxiety and depression, working out helps you work through those difficulties and allows you to reduce stress and negative thoughts.

As little as 10 minutes a day can greatly improve your body and your mind as well as your overall mood for the day. Of course experts say minimum of 20 minutes a day of exercising is best, but do what you can. Don't make yourself feel that if you can't do 20 minutes, you can't do an exercise routine. There are so many exercise videos on YouTube that you can follow that takes about 10 minutes. Go for it! Your body and mind will thank you later.

3. Meditation

Self care has grown in popularity lately. People are seeing how practicing self-care routines helps your mind and your mental state. Meditation is an amazing self-care routine. If done regularly, it improves your ability to focus, reduces stress, and improves your overall mood. I use it to help me with my anxiety. And I have used it when I have felt depressed. It takes some time to learn how to do it, as it is a practice. You have to keep doing it to get better at it. There also is no wrong way to do meditation. That's the beauty of it. It's really open to your interpretation of it. Sort of like yoga. By focusing on a single thing, be it your breath or the sound of a meditation bawl, you quite your mind of everything else and allow it to relax which is something that we don't regularly do in our lives.

4. Journaling

When I was a kid, my English teacher wanted us to journal daily. I never thought of it as something substantial until I got older and started doing it myself. By allowing your mind to dump your thoughts on paper and reflecting on it, you get to know yourself a bit more. Sometimes we suppress our thoughts or just have too many thoughts that become jumbled due to our hectic lives but journaling allows you to do that. You can come up with great ideas while journaling and come to terms with things about yourself or make plans on improving yourself. Journaling is also a self-care routine.

5. Stay Away from Emails and Social Media

Does the thought of checking your email give you anxiety? It does for me. The thought of having to go through all of the emails to sort, delete, and respond gets overwhelming. So why do that as soon as you wake up when you are trying to focus on improving your mental well-being and ability to deal with your stressful day by adding stress the first thing in the morning. Same goes for social media. It's distracting, overwhelming, and offers way too much stimuli in the morning when you are trying to calm your mind. By staying away from all this noise, and focusing on fortifying your foundation, you'll be able to deal with working through social media as well as emails and everything else you have to do, later in the day.

6. Eat something light and healthy

There is a saying, you are what you eat. Food has a substantial effect on our bodies and our minds as well as a mood. Too much sugar can give you an immediate high but then will give you a horrible crash. Not to mention, it’s just bad for you. I tend to look at eating something that is low in carbs and high in healthy fats with moderate proteins. It gives my brain what it needs and allows my body to be energized without dealing with a bad crash. I do have my coffee in the morning but I drink it black, I'm not crazy! Black coffee and teas are the best way to do it but you have to get your taste buds used to it!

7. Read something motivational or listen to a great moving podcast or speech

Lastly, read something that will move you and push you to being the best that you can be! Or just listen to a really good speech or a great podcast that fuels that fire in you. There are so many great podcast out there, so many great books and audiobooks, YouTube videos, and speeches that are readily available for you to listen to or read. Listening or reading something that motivates you or teaches you something that will help you succeed, even if you are religious and you want to listen to your favorite Reverend that is saying something that resonates to you, do that! By absorbing positive messages that makes you happy and motivates you early in your day will help set the tone of your day. Surround yourself with positivity!

Do your thing!

These are just things that I do, but you don't have to follow these to the T. Figure out your own routine, figure out what would work for you. Make it your own! Once you find your own morning routine that works the best for you, stick to it!

Remember, take care of yourself before you take care of others. Don't overwork yourself and not take care of yourself. You won't be able to do anything for anyone if you, yourself, don't take priority. As a mom, I highly suggest it.
