Depending on the type of documentation, amount of signers, and if witnesses are necessary, will dictate the appointment duration. Single form, single notarization appointments will take approximately 10 minutes while Wills and Trusts may take 45 minutes to complete.
Note: ID verification of the signer is required. There are 2 options on how to do that:
Valid (non-expired) Government Issued Photo ID
2 credible witnesses:
Must personally know the signer
Be impartial to the transaction
Take an oath or affirmation vouching for the signers identity
Present a Valid (non-expired) Government Issued Photo ID
If the signer is unable to sign his/her name, then the signer must perform the signature by mark in the notary's presence. No other option is available in the State of New York.
Please see Document Types for more details.
